Synopsis

1848

The Sacramento Valley is a land of opportunity and danger. The discovery of gold in the American River has set off a chain of events that will test the strength and resolve of two sisters, Jessie and Hannah. When Hannah's husband is murdered, a ruthless land baron, Sherman Hearst, claims their land for himself, forcing the women to find a way to reclaim their homestead.

The sisters and Nanya, an indigenous woman, head to the American River in search of gold, hoping to pay off Hearst and secure their future. During the treacherous trip to the west, they encounter Charlotte, a slave on the run from her abusive master, who agrees to help them in their journey.

When the women finally arrive at the river, they face the brutal challenges of gold mining and the harsh realities of being women on the frontier. Their success is threatened when Hearst kidnaps Hannah, sending the women in a chase for Hearst and his band of outlaws back to the homestead for a climactic showdown.

Now, the women must fight for their lives to reclaim their future and build a new life in the American West.
